Alex Sproul (Augusta County) retired after 20 years duty that included tours in Vietnam, Korea, and Germany.
Sproul’s family property in West Augusta has been a beloved retreat for five generations, but was bisected east-west in the 1970s by a Dominion high-voltage power line right-of-way. Now it’s being bisected north-south by the proposed ACP. There would remain few places on the forested property where the sight of clearcut ROWs are not a constant reminder of the danger of an accident.
On Veterans Day remember to honor America’s veterans for defending our country and our freedoms and for their willingness to sacrifice all for our principles.
These men and women had our backs. Now let’s stand up for them.
Don’t let a private corporation take their land and trample their rights for private gain.
